The client is an international company operating in the Tele and Data communications infrastructure industry. They are actively seeking a Security Operations Centre Engineer within their Operations & Engineering Group.
Within the NOC team, the Security Operations Centre Engineer will provide 24x7 global security and technical support services across the client’s international terrestrial networks. Real time monitoring and management of their services, sites, networks and facilities to ensure customer service SLA’s and targets are met and exceeded.
You will be involved in the Design, maintenance, and management of modern network and security solutions. Overseeing and managing central security IT systems as well as Monitoring and managing interventions. You will monitor the development of technology in the chosen field and actively participate in the introduction of new technological solutions.
To take full advantage of this opportunity you will need 2+ years, experience in a Technical Security Network role within a NOC or Technical support environment with exposure to Ciena, IP, Optical Transmission. Facility management experience would be beneficial as would the ability to build effective working relationships with all levels of the business and across all functions. Knowledge of Ciena 6500 product ideal.
Candidates should be self-motivated, very reliable and a results orientated professional with the ability to work calmly under pressure, meet strict deadlines and comfortable working in fast paced environment.The role is hybrid in nature but you would need to be able to commute to the NOC which is based in Newcastle.
