​Great Opportunity to join a well-funded, high-tech, start-up based in Dublin. The company operates in a large global market with a value of €1 billion in annual revenues over the next ten years. Since their formation they have won numerous national and EU awards for their technology and their business proposition and have now moved into the next exciting stage of their growth. As part of that growth, they are now seeking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their product development team.

The role offers the opportunity to fully employ and develop the skillset of a talented engineer while developing very high precision electro-mechanical / optical assemblies that operate in a vacuum environment. You will contribute to delivering first of its kind technology and have the opportunity to implement meaningful design change as they progress with product commercialisation.

You have a strong aptitude for mechanical design and an ability to work from first principals in solving problems. You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary environment and have a mix of skills with a strong foundation in solid mechanics, thermodynamics and materials. Specific knowledge of the design of mechanisms and design for machining are an advantage. The role will involve:

  • Design of CE-marked, precision mechanical equipment for a laboratory environment

  • Analysis of problems and associated root cause analyses.

  • Ensuring that all engineering documentation created as part of tasks meet the requirements of internal procedures & strict timelines. This includes CAD, engineering drawings, BOMs, Technical Specifications, Test Plans and other program deliverables

  • Ensure that designs comply with all relevant specifications via well-presented calculations and analysis.

  • Generate and perform validation / testing programmes of designs.

  • Undertake continuous improvement activities

  • Module/System construction and testing
